Does my student need to be enrolled at Walden School to attend Camp Walden?

Nope. All school students of the appropriate grades are encouraged to join in the fun at Camp Walden. In fact, invite a friend! The more, the merrier.


How much are Camp Walden registration fees?

Each camp session is $165/week.* For most sessions, materials are covered in the cost of registration.

*Theater Camp is a two-week camp session and costs $300/camper. Campers must sign up for both weeks.


What Time Are camp sessions?

Morning camp sessions run from 9:15am-12:15pm. Lunch period is scheduled between 12:15-12:45pm. Campers must bring their own lunches. Afternoon camp sessions run from 12:45-3:45pm. Sign up for a morning, an afternoon, or the whole day!


What times should I drop off and pick up my camper?

Campers may be dropped off between 9:00-9:15am for morning and full-day sessions. For afternoon sessions, please arrive between 12:30-12:45pm. 

Identification is required by parents/guardians who are authorized for pick-up. Campers should be promptly picked up after their morning sessions at 12:15pm or afternoon sessions at 3:45pm. Note: A $10 late fee after 4:00pm will be assessed and payment will be required at time of pick up if the camper is not enrolled in the extended care program.


How do I drop off or pick up my camper?

  • For most camps, families can either:

    • Choose to drive up to the front porch and walk up to the check-in tables.

    • Find a parking spot and walk up to the check-in tables.

  • Campers enrolled in Kinder Camp will be dropped off in the carpool lane outside of their instructor’s classroom.

  • Campers enrolled in Spanish Camp, Traditional Camp, and Athletic Camps will be dropped off in the back near the high school.

Campers cannot check-in or out of camp themselves; a parent/guardian is required.


What should my child bring to camp?

  • Wear sunscreen

  • Bug spray (optional)

  • Bring a bottle of water

  • Snacks (optional)

  • If staying for a full day, make sure to bring your own lunch

What age does my camper have to be to attend camp?

Camp Walden accepts students in the rising grades of Preschool through 12th Grade. Please make note of this upon registration; choose the grade level your child will be in the fall of 2024.


How do I sign up and pay for Camp Walden registration?

Easy. Go to the sign up page On the registration form, you will select your sessions, provide parent/guardian and camper information, and pay online.

Registrants now have the option of paying in full or enrolling in a payment plan. All camp fees are due one week prior to the start of camp.


Where is Camp Walden located?

Camp Walden 2024 will be held on the Walden School campus at 4238 Westport Road, St. Matthews, KY.


What is your refund policy?

Camp registration fees (except for the additional purchase of Extended or Early Morning Care) are non-refundable.


Do I receive a Camp Walden t-shirt when I sign up?

Yes. Every camper will receive a complimentary Camp Walden t-shirt.


Is there an extended Care program offered at camp?

Yes. An Extended Care program is offered at Camp Walden and includes late afternoon hours. During Extended Care, campers will participate in fun games, art activities, gym sports, watch movies, etc. Parents/guardians have the option of enrolling their camper in the Extended Care program when they sign up for a full-day or afternoon camp session.

  • COST: $50/per week per child

  • EVENING: 3:45-6:00PM
    Campers may stay until 6:00pm after their afternoon or full-day camp session. A $10 late fee will be applied if campers are not picked up by 6:00pm.


Is There Early Morning Childcare Offered at Camp?

Yes. An early morning childcare program is offered at Camp Walden from 7:30-9:00am. Parents/guardians have the option of enrolling their camper in the Early Morning Care program when they sign up for a full-day or morning camp session.

  • COST: $25/week per child

  • MORNING: 7:30-9:00AM


Is lunch provided at Camp Walden?

No. Lunch will not be available for purchase in summer 2024. If staying for a full day, make sure to bring your own lunch! Lunch will not be provided to campers. The lunch period at camp is between 12:15-12:45pm.

Snacks are provided, but campers may bring their own snack if they’d prefer.


Who teaches or leads the camp sessions?

Camp sessions are either led by Walden School faculty/staff, Walden graduates, Walden parents, or local professionals.
